A Hoveround Power Chair Can Change Your Life

They should rename the company runaround because that's all I got from them. The first time I contacted them they told me what I needed. I immediately began work with my primary care physician to get a referral from physical therapist and begin the process to get my power chair. My doctor has done this for other patients through other suppliers over the years with no issues. Hoveround for some reason and decided to make the process is difficult as possible. The first issue was the three week process of getting them to communicate effectively with my primary care physician you get the proper paperwork they needed. They advised me to call back every week to check on the status. On one call I found out that they had all the paperwork they needed and everything was correct and ready to submit to the insurance company this was two days before an appointment that I had set up for fall off with my primary care I specifically asked hoveround at this time if there was anything I needed to bring up to my doctor that they would need. They told me "no" and that all my paperwork was in order and that they had submitted it to my insurance company for review. After calling back 4 weeks in a row and have my patient advocate call them as well we finally got a clear cut answer that we had to wait for them to hear back from the insurance company at which time they would complete my order. About 10 days later I received an email from Hoveround saying I had a message in the customer portal. The message said we apologize that you missed your evaluation appointment with your primary care physician. I was confused. This totally contradicted everything I have been told. I called my patient advocate and told her about it and we called hoveround together to find out what was going on. We were informed that my primary care had not filled out the paperwork properly and he would need to correct it before they sent it to the insurance company. I have dealt with companies before and government agencies they gave me the runaround and had me going in circles just like this company was starting to do. It triggered both my PTSD and my depression so my patient advocate said that she would take over the conversation. As soon as she said this the Hoveround operator hung up on us. I have never been treated so poorly or had my intelligence insulted so badly from a company that prides itself on its customer service. I highly recommend not doing any business with Hoveround because all you're going to get is the runaround. I have also filed a complaint with the better Business bureau who has 31 current unanswered complaints with this company. They also have given Hoveround a D- rating. Buyer beware! There are several other companies who would jump through hoops to get your business for these medical devices. Don't waste your time or put yourself through the humiliation you will get from dealing with this company. If I could give it negative Stars I would
