The Hoveround Process
One of the most unique aspects of selecting a Hoveround electric wheelchair is the fact that we sell directly to you. That means that every step of the way -- you're working with us, and only us. That's because we not only sell electric wheelchairs and electric scooters -- we manufacture, service and provide guidance through the entire Medicare, Medicaid and/or insurance process so that you can find the absolute best electric wheelchair or electric scooter, uniquely customized to your body, as quickly as possible. Below are the steps to obtain your Hoveround electric wheelchair or electric scooter:
Phone Call to Request Electric Wheelchair Info
The process begins with your call or e-mail to request information about Hoveround power chairs or electric scooters. Our Mobility Specialists will answer every question you have and gather the necessary information (address, phone number, medical problems) to create your confidential file.
Determine if Electric Wheelchair is Medically Neccessary
The next step is meeting with your doctor for your mobility evaluation. Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies require a doctor’s prescription for power chair coverage. (If you plan to use any of these methods for payment, it is important to schedule your doctor’s appointment right away.) This doctor's visit must be specifically for your face-to-face mobility evaluation, not a general appointment. During the mobility evaluation, your doctor will ask you a series of questions to determine if an electric wheel chair is medically necessary. If your doctor prescribes a motorized wheel chair, we work with your doctor to complete the Medicare and/or insurance paperwork.
Guidance with Medicare & Medicaid Paperwork
We work with Medicare, Medicaid and/or insurance companies to complete the paperwork process. We have over 15 years of experience navigating through the paperwork process. In fact, 9 out of 10 Hoveround customers pay little or nothing for their Hoveround power wheelchair.1
Selecting the Right Electric Wheelchair or Electric Scooter
We fit your power chair to your body measurements for complete comfort. We guarantee your new electric wheelchair will fit your body proportions and will work in your home.
Delivery & Training for your Electric Wheelchair
We deliver our power wheelchairs and mobility scooters right to your home with no delivery fees. At delivery, we teach you how to operate your new power wheelchair throughout your home.
24-Hour Emergency Servicing for Your Electric Wheelchair or Electric Scooter
We have service support 24 hours a day to handle service emergencies. Most service issues can even be solved over the phone or in your home. And, as part of the Hoveround "Never Without Wheels" Guarantee if for some reason your electric wheel chair cannot be repaired on the spot, we supply temporary replacement equipment for you to use until your power chair is repaired.2 This way you will never be ‘without wheels’ again.
1 Insurance coverage depends on medical necessity as determined by insurer. Valid doctor’s prescription required.
2 Free temporary replacement equipment applies to factory mechanical defects only. Restrictions apply. Call for details.
